3:45 pm the half moon rose over Nevada Falls and Liberty Cap viewed from just below Clark Point in Yosemite National Park. I knew the time the moon was going to rise, and exactly from where it would rise because of my favorite new free ipod touch app: Moon Globe. I was very excited to get this shot, escpecially since the clouds started rolling in on the clear day around 3:00. I love a sky with clouds, but they were blowing so quickly, I was only able to see the moon for a brief moment... but that brief moment was all I needed.
Yosemite is a BIG place... a LOT to take in, more so in just one frame. So, I took 7 vertical HDR frames to capture this nearly 90º Pano of Half Dome, Mt Broderick, Liberty Cap, Bella Luna, and Nevada Falls. THis image is inspired, of course, by Ansel Adams' Moon Over Half Dome.
